The quality of treatment I provide is assured by continuous (medical)education, clinical discussion groups (meetings with colleagues aiming at sharing professional experiences and discussion of clinical cases, in full respect of patients’s privacy), a 5-yearly visitation by a professional committee of the Dutch Psychiatric Association (NVvP), 5-yearly re-registration as a psychiatrist and a psychotherapist, recurrent evaluation end application of measurements of treatment’s effect i.e. by R.O.M. (Routine Outcome Measurements) questionnaires.
I follow the professional code and guidelines of the KNMG and NVvP.
My practice has a Quality Statute, the Kwaliteitsstatuut GGZ, required since 01-01-2017 – the latest version dating 20-04-2024 is also available for reading in my practice.
As with all Healthcare professionals, I am bound by professional confidentiality. Everything you discuss with me is strictly confidential. Information to third parties, such as occupational physicians or medical advisers, can be provided only with your written authorization.
NB: There is one major exception to this rule: in case of serious and acute danger to your person or others, I am required to inform third parties (i.e. Police, Emergency Services, General Practitioner and, possibly, family members), even without your formal authorization.
It is customary to inform your General Practitioner, as the formal referrer, about your diagnosis, treatment plan, developments or major changes in your treatment and its closure. I will formally ask for your consent and discuss with you the content of my letter to your General Practitioner. You have the option to decline to authorize me to provide personal information to your General Practitioner.
According to the guidelines of my professional organizations, I participate to peer discussion groups. During our meetings we discuss our patients’ problems and treatments; all those present to these meetings are equally bound to professional secrecy and no personal information will ever be disclosed. I am required to keep an electronic patient’s file (elektronisch patiëntendossier – EPD). The software provider of my EPD is Tenzinger/Medicore.
According to the laws WGBO, GGZ and BIG, as a patient you have rights.
